PARKERSBURG - The Parkersburg Christian Church, 2200 10th Ave., will hold a revival Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with Richard Beam.
Beam is a native of Ohio and a graduate of Kentucky Christian College, Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky where he received a doctorate in education.
Beam has had preaching ministries in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. He served as vice president of Eastern Christian College in Maryland before going to Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in 1978.
He became director of graduate studies in 1987 and then academic dean and vice president for academics in 1995.
Concurrent with his work at the university, he was senior minister at the Woodlawn Christian Church in Knoxville from 1989-1995 and led two major building programs.
Beam retired from Johnson in 2013, but continues as an adjunct professor of literature. He and his wife, Ruthanne, will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. They have three sons and seven grandchildren.
He will speak Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday services and for the 7 p.m. services on Monday and Tuesday.
