Bill Courtney, aka KO8OK, N8RMY, Mr. Bill, 58, of Parkersburg, died at his residence on April 27, 2014.
He was born in Wood County, W.Va., on March 27, 1956, and was the son of William Walter Courtney Sr. of Belpre and the late Virgia Anna Black Courtney.
He graduated with the class of 1974 from Belpre High School and with the 1990 class at WVU-P. He had worked as an electrical tech for Industrial Grinding, and was a General Contractor with Landmark Realtors. He had been a member of the ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League).
Survivors include his wife, Maryanne Courtney; his father; two sisters, Carol (Wayne) Alkire of Little Hocking, Ohio, and Susan Courtney of Belpre; a nephew, C.W. Alkire of Mentor, Ohio; two nieces, Dee Alkire of Mentor, Ohio, and Jenny Alkire (Don) of Belpre; a sister-in-law, Luanne Gallo of North Olmsted, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Carl Gallo of North Olmsted, Ohio; his best friend, Kerry Pasko of Belpre; and companion, Andy the Dog.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his mother and father-in-law, Louis and Evelyn Gallo.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
