Sylvia G. Sarver, 97, formerly of Vincent, passed away April 17, 2014, at Ohio Valley Health Care, where she had resided for the past four years.
She was born in Hepzibah, W.Va., Dec. 20, 1916, a daughter of the late Frank and Lillie Brumage Null.
She graduated from Harrisville High School. Sylvia had been a homemaker and had worked at the Belpre Post Office as a substitute rural mail carrier.
Surviving Sylvia are her step-daughter, Phyllis Sarver Myers of Belpre; sons, James Sarver and Debie and Timothy Sarver and Chris, all of Columbus; daughter, Frankie Rhodes and Jim of Vincent; eight grandchildren, Todd Sarver and Kim of Plain City, Ohio, Kelly Harlow and Bob of Newark, Ohio, Jeremiah Sarver and Rene', and Sabrina Sarver, all of Columbus, Ohio, Jason Rhodes and fiancee Shannon of Newport, Ohio, Curt Rhodes and Sarah, and Scott Rhodes, all of Vincent, Ohio, George Myers and Linda of Seneca Rocks, W.Va., Pam Smith and John of Vincent, and Mark Myers of Vincent; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Sarver; three brothers, Ben, Woodrow and Harry; and a step-son, Charles Sarver.
There will be no visitation or service at Sylvia's request.
