Wilmer J. Dyke, 91, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 15, 2014, in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born March 5, 1922, in Mt. Royal, N.J., a son of the late Charles and Clara Belle Heritage Dyke.
He was U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII. Before retiring from G.E., he traveled extensively starting up chemical facilities in Australia, Japan, Mexico, Holland, England and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Eleanor Dyke on Feb. 2, 2014. Wilmer is survived by four daughters, Elaine (Tom) Birkhimer of Star Valley Ranch, Wyo., Susan (Jim) Cooper of Waverly, Ohio, Geraldine (Chester) DeWitt of Cumberland, Md., and Rebecca Williamson of Williamstown, W.Va. Also surviving are two sons, David (Sharon) Dyke of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Jeffrey (Darci) Dyke of Parkersburg. He leaves behind seven granddaughters; 10 grandsons; six great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
A private funeral will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
