Jacqueline Coe Wright, 78, of Cottageville, W.Va., passed away Oct. 26, 2013, in the Hubbard Hopice House West, South Charleston.
She was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Mineral Wells, W.Va., a daughter of the late James Gerald and Kathryn (Deem) Coe.
Her husband, Carl R. Wright; and an infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Wright, also preceded her in death.
She was a retired elementary school teacher and actively participated with the local School Improvement Council, and was a volunteer with the Read-Aloud program. She was a 4-H extension agent, a trustee for the American Sternwheel Association, a member of the Western Soil Conservation District, and former longstanding secretary/treasurer for the Blaine Memorial Cemetery Endowment Trust Fund. She was also a member of Cottageville Chapter 16, Order of Eastern Star, and attended Cottageville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Jay Robert Wright of Cottageville and E. Barbara Wright and her husband, James, of Millwood; grandchildren, Brittany Wright, Bridget Wright, Brandi Wright and Allison Thaxton; great-grandson, Braxton Briscoe; and sisters, Jean Marie Ruble and Lois Goodrich, both of Parkersburg, Juliet J. Black of Leland, N.C., Sharon Foster of Shepherdstown and Wendy Loftis of Charleston.
Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, W.Va., with the Rev. Phillip Scarberry and John Gunther officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Committal service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, W.Va.
