Gary Allen Noland, 58, surrounded by family and friends, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 27, 2013.
A native of Parkersburg, he was the son of the late Kenneth "Whitie" and Mary Noland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for 35 years. His greatest joy was in service for the Lord, whether it be preaching, teaching Sunday School or caring for the homeless.
He is survived by a son, Marc (Sarah) of Parkersburg; a son, Christopher of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Renee of Parkersburg; and four grandchildren, Sydney, Logan, Asa and Asia. Also surviving are three brothers, Greg of Parkersburg, Jeff of Lubeck and Larry of Terra Alta; four sisters, Pam and Judy of South Carolina, Margaret of Parkersburg and Lisha of Winston Salem, N.C.; 29 nieces and nephews; 31 great-nieces and nephews; and his precious puppy, "Princess."
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula, whom he cherished; one brother, Don Noland; and one granddaughter, Anastasia.
A Celebration of Life service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lubeck Community Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
