Richard Lee Ross, 66, of Pennsboro, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1947 in Pennsboro, the son of the late Richard Glenn and Eleanor Irene Lamm Ross.
Richard was a 1965 graduate of Pennsboro High School, where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from Mountain State College in 1969 with a degree in data processing. He was an employee of DuPont Washington Works for the last 44 years as a store clerk. He was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Richard is survived by a son, Jeremy Ross, Pennsboro; a daughter, Misty Ross, Pennsboro; a brother, Steven Ross (Lisa), Williamstown; brother-in-law, David Henthorn, St. Marys, a niece, Lynnaya Ross; a nephew, Dustin Ross; in-laws Edgar Hooper (Ann), Dr. Rev. Larry Hooper, Carolyn Flanagan,Marilyn Cottrill (Lewis) and families; and his two loyal companions, Butters and Tiny.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Karen Hooper Ross; sister, Nancey Henthorn; in-laws Michael Flanagan and Sandy Hooper.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. at the McCullough Funeral Home in Pennsboro with the Dr. Rev. Larry Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on the day of the service.
