Earnest "Ernie" Casto Hoschar Sr., of Vienna, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born in Parkersburg W.Va., Oct. 17, 1935, the son of the late William B. and Lula Belle Casto Hoschar.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran. After his military service, he began his career as a milk truck driver for Broughtons Dairy and finished his career as a teamster having retired from Consolidated Freight. He loved hunting and playing cards along with old movies. He was a member of the local Moose Lodge 1118.
He is survived by one brother, Arnold Hoschar of Parkersburg; three sons, Earnest Hoschar Jr. (Robin) of Belpre, Steven Hoschar of Vienna, and Timothy Hoschar of Vienna; one daughter, Stephanie Shepard (John) of Vienna; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Hoschar (Kellee) of Tomball, Texas, Jacob Hoschar of Parkersburg, Amanda Wilson of Webster, Texas, Jordan Hoschar of Parkersburg, Lindsey Wilson (Jason) of Parkersburg, Olivia Hoschar of Parkersburg, and Joseph Shepard of Vienna; four great-grandchildren, all of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet; one brother, Junior Hoschar; two sisters, Margaret Fugate and Hazel Morris; and one infant brother and sister, Roy and Violet Hoschar.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg, with Rev. Pat Kerr officiating. Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m., and an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Parkersburg.
