William J. Hall, 70, of Cairo, W.Va., departed this life on April 1, 2013, at his residence on Brushy Fork.
He was born May 20, 1942, in Pullman, W.Va., the son of the late Hayward Jackson Hall and Ellen Lorena Hall of Pullman. William was a graduate of St. Marys High School and the University of Wyoming. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He had been a rancher and worked as a city policeman in Laramie, Wyo. While living in Wyoming, he also was a high school teacher and a conductor for Burlington Railroad. After moving back to West Virginia, he was a retired FBI police officer in Clarksburg, a member of Fraternal Order of Police of Clarksburg, and loved farming, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of Pullman United Methodist Church and attended St. John's Catholic Church, St. Marys.
In addition to his mother, William is survived by his wife, Dolores Ann Mooney Hall; children, Melissa 'Missi' O'Leary (Steven), and William Micah Hall (Samantha), all of Alliance, Neb., Robert Jackson Hall (Deniel) of Rapid City, S.D., Erin Maiolino (Ralph) of York, Pa., Tara Gallus (John) of Bethlehem, Pa., Bridget Humphrey of Cairo, W.Va., Shannon Cromer (Brian) of Hanover, Pa., Kacie Donnelly (Patrick) of York, Pa., and John Rafferty of Cairo, W.Va.; brother, Bob Hall (Debbie) of Parkersburg; and 20 grandchildren, niece, and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Winship Hall.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Rev. Bill Jemison and Father Ron Prechtl officiating. Burial will follow in the Pullman Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
