Samuel Ross Uppole, 49, of Marietta, passed away on March 4, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Marietta, on May 14, 1963, a son of Dorotha Louise Hurst Martin of Marietta, and the late Harold Evert Uppole. Samuel worked as a welder, and had the honor of working on the space shuttle while employed through Martin Marietta. He had attended Norwood United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, Samuel is survived by special friend, Ginger Thorson of Marietta; his pets, Ruger and Newt; and many family and friends, including Curt Alden and Jody, Matthew Alden, Ben Alden, Margaret Alden, Ed Henry and Toni; and good friends, Lynn Alden, Rick Starkey and Darrell Haynes.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Norwood United Methodist Church, with Chaplain Robert Sinett officiating.
