PARKERSBURG - The show will go on, said Felice Jorgeson, director of the Smoot Theatre.
"Red, Hot and Blue," a traveling production on its way to Parkersburg, will be unimpeded by the approaching winter storm and the show slated for today at the Smoot Theatre will go on as scheduled, she said.
Jorgeson spoke with the performers on Thursday and they were in Indianapolis on their way to Parkersburg. They left ahead of the storm.
"They arrived on Thursday evening, so all is well," she said.
The production is based in Branson, Mo., and its repertoire includes music from different eras including rag time, big band, disco and rock and roll. The troupe has won awards for costumes, vocals and choreography.
The show is at 8 p.m. today and tickets remain, Jorgeson said. To reserve seats, call the Smoot at 304-422-PLAY.
Tickets are $29 for adults and $15 for students in high school and younger. More information is available at www.smoottheatre.com.
The National Weather Service has issued numerous warnings for the winter storm that is spanning 20 states including Ohio and West Virginia. Some areas are expecting a foot of snow.
The advisory for the Parkersburg and Marietta area called for freezing rain and sleet into today.
