Adam N. DeMerchant, age 30, of Hartford, Wis., passed away unexpectedly, Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.
Adam was born Dec. 17, 1982, in West Bend, Wis., to Wayne and Sandra (nee Fisk) DeMerchant. He was united in marriage to Lori E. Kent, Nov. 8, 2003, in Parkersburg, W.Va. Adam worked as a CNA, and loved helping people, especially his residents at the Hartford Care Center. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and the Hartford Jaycees and enjoyed working on the Jaycees Haunted House. He loved sculpting, drawing, writing poetry and short stories. He especially loved the time spent with his daughter, Jaelynn, fishing on the mill pond and going to the park.
Adam is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter, Jaelynn; mom, Sandy of Hartford, Wis.; his siblings, Alexander of West Bend, Wis., Derek of Arkansas, Rayna (Robert) St. George of Iron Ridge, Wis., and Natira DeMerchant of West Bend, Wis.; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Fisk of Jackson, Wis.; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Becki and Kevin Miller of Parkersburg, W.Va. Adam is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; his maternal grandfather, Donel Fisk; and his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Thelma DeMerchant.
A memorial service for Adam will be 6:30 p.m. today at the Shimon Funeral Home. Family will greet relatives and friends from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
