Iona Joan Cole, 77, of Parkersburg, formerly of Doddridge County, went home to be with her Creator, peacefully and pain free, with her daughter by her side, Jan. 19, 2013, following a long extended illness.
She was a daughter of the late James Archibald Langford and Frankie Jean (Greenleaf) Langford. Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed collecting dolls. She loved being with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She had a great love for animals, and bred and raised small breed dogs.
Surviving is her daughter, Vikki Bosely and her husband Michael of Parkersburg; sons, Rusty Cole and his wife Anne of Parkersburg and Marty Cole of Parkersburg; her siblings, Charles Langford of Painesville, Ohio, Gerald Langford of Mentor, Ohio, Barbara Lowther of New Milton, Jay Langford of Harrisville and Karen Langford of Troy, W.Va. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Sean Knotts (Alisha), Brittney Knotts, Michael Bosely (Leyna), Michael Palmer and Amy Cole; and 9 great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Kylie, Oscar and Xavior, Audriana and Lily, Garrett and Bailey and Myrandia; and two beloved dogs, Daisy and Baby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Glen Cole; son, Michael Cole; sister, Mary Jane Lowther; and brother, Major Jackson Langford.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro. Interment will follow at the Fallen Timber Church Cemetery in Doddridge County. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
