Harry J. Fought, 89, of Parkersburg, died Jan. 5, 2013, at Eagle Pointe.
Mr. Fought was born Dec. 9, 1923, at Parkersburg, a son of the late Charles and Minnie Dent Fought.
He was a 60-year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 33, and retired from B.F. Shaw Co., contractors at the DuPont Washington Works site. He especially enjoyed spending time with his faithful companions, his dogs, Troubles, Tiny and Blacky.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda K. Church and her husband, Gerald, and Cherrie L. Cowan and her husband, Vernon; one son, David A. Fought and his wife, June Ann; six grandchildren, Gregory Church (Catherine), Michael Church (Kristin Shato), Christopher Fought, Robyn Thomson (Todd), Jason Cowan (Tracy) and Cassie Lynn Mondragon (Manuel); amd eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Allison and Julia Church and Noelle and Hunter Cowan, Aynsley and Brynnly Thomson and Gabriel Mondragon.
He was preceded in death in 2005 by his wife of 59 years, Betty M. George Fought; one sister, Lima S. Stout; and two brothers, Donza and Grover Fought.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Larry Dale officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Andrew Church, Gregory Church, Michael Church, Christopher Fought, Robert Stout and Charles Stout.
