Opal M. Burrows, 81, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Opal was born Dec. 14, 1930 in Freed, W.Va., the daughter of Willie A. and Nancy Jane Richards Collins. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to her three children. Their father, Wilford Ball, passed away at an early age, after which she continued to successfully raise her children and provide them a loving home. She will be deeply missed.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilford in 1969; and brothers, Delmas Collins and Darl Collins. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Duane Ball and wife Celesta of Burke, Va., Donna Ellis of Rittman, Ohio and Diane Ball and fiance Kevin Wood of Jamestown, N.C.; grandchildren, Sarah Ball, Adam Ellis, Brian Ellis, Caitlynn Ellis and Devin Ellis; brothers, Paul Collins and Ron Collins, both of Grantsville, W.Va.; and sister, Phyllis Bunner of Parkersburg, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Prosperity Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Saunders Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville and Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel are assisting the Burrows family.
