Dave Kahn Jr., 93, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 2, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
Mr. Kahn was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late David H. and Fannie Bryan Kahn. His wife, Millie Turner Kahn, preceded him in death on May 1, 1968.
Mr. Kahn was a December 1937 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He received a chemical engineering degree from West Virginia University, where he also was a member of the WVU rifle team. Dave completed the Penn State Diesel School and naval midshipman school during his World War II naval career. He retired in 1971 as a chemical engineer from DuPont, and was especially proud of his participation in the development and manufacturing of butacite. He was the former owner and operator of the Credit Bureau of Parkersburg and Collectors Incorporated. Mr. Kahn was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge 3 A.F. & A.M. and Temple B'nai Israel, Parkersburg.
Survivors include one daughter, Cassie Rapp and husband, Randy, of Vienna; one son, Matthew C. Kahn and wife, Denise, and her daughter, Brittany Bunner, of Davisville; one brother, Charles Kahn of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Carrie and Shelly Rapp and Lindsay and Levi Kahn.
Graveside services with Masonic rites conducted by Mt. Olivet Lodge 3 will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
