Thomas E. "Tom" Lewis, 69, of Belmont, W.Va., passed away Oct. 7, 2012, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, in Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was born Oct. 21, 1942 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late French and Edith Wilson and Harry Clyde Lewis. He was a 1961 graduate of Doddridge County High School, attended W.Va. Business College for two years in Clarksburg, W.Va. and was retired from Union Carbide/Witco in Sistersville, W.Va. He was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and he enjoyed his dog, Ace.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mae H. Lewis; children, Todd Edward Lewis and his wife Dianna of St. Marys, W.Va., Paula Ellen Gainer and her husband Lance of Williamstown, W.Va. and LeAnne Virginia Westbrook and her husband Jason of Reno, Ohio; two grandchildren, Thomas Christopher Lewis, a pharmacy student at Ohio Northern University, and Addie Mae Lewis, a senior at St. Marys High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-sister, Ruby Wilson Nicewarner.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., with Pastor Pamela Shuman officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasants Memorial Estates at Eureka, W.Va. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
