Not a very informative explanation there, Sunshine. What kind of "things"? No TV commentators? No newspaper editorials? Does the stuff come to you in your dreams?

Denver, my-my, you are a paranoid sort, aren't you? Either prove that I have had your posts removed or shut your pie hole. I don't care what you post on these comment pages. Every time you do, it just shows what a pathetic and shallow person you are. You and your ilk like to keep saying that the people on the RIGHT (called that because they are) get their marching orders and such from FOX News, Rush, and others of that type, but I have to ask where you get your marching orders. From "thrill up my leg" Matthews, Bill Maher, MSNBC, & that sort of trash reporting or do you have a hotline to the Oval Office? Can hardly wait to see your irrational answer, which seem to be the only kind you can give.

But that's one way of doing away with our first Amendment rights! wing nuts never did believe in the Constitution anyway! And you just proved it.

I wouldn't feel bad" manydemocrats" he or she had my comments removed in the "Editorial Fanaticism" for calling him or her Einstein and little buddy. I reckon Einstein and little buddy is a "derogatory comment" in his or hers mind.

And Odumma has nothing to do with the free phones? Man, what a guppy you are...that or a blind fool. Denver, how much did Odumma's buddies at Solyndra get before they went belly-up? Guy007, right on! md said, "Sometimes I want to "PUKE" from the HYPOCRACY...". Yeah, and I want to puke from the illiteracy. Keep that dictionary close. You dems are hopeless!

“In this thread, I thought manydems showed better-than-usual self-restraint.”

Looking back, I can see why. All of his post in which he called me a liar, a maroon (again, intentionally misspelled) and the rest of his derogatory comments have been removed. He’s been as vile and classless in this thread as he is in others. I overlook him because I know when they have to resort to calling me names; I’ve bested them in the debate.

I will reiterate my point again. This country was not founded on equality for all. While many of our Founding Fathers may very well share a belief that I have in that we’re all created equal, the ONLY promises we have are life, liberty and the “pursuit” of happiness. If we have a promise of quality, it comes with the freedoms guaranteed in our Bill of Rights but sadly, many from both sides will strip those as it suits their purpose. Examples can be made on both sides of the aisle.

My point is, Welfare isn't one of those rights.

In the 3rd or 4th of MD’s many rants at the beginning of this thread, he stated “Yes we are fortunate enough to live in this land of plenty. And we have a government that SHOULD BE responsible enough to insure that we don't have masses of impoverished and equality for all.” A few rants later he stated “Not only are the WORKING CLASS losing ground rapidly. That ground and the gains for "equality for all" (his quotes) are being attacked by other misinformed and misguided "WORKING CLASS" themselves. I ask him where equality was promised.

A post has been removed because he called me a liar and a maroon (intentionally misspelled) and stated they were promised in our founding documents. His proof was quoting Goldwater, Obama and the Gettysburg Address, which was the incorrect quote. Slaves demonstrate our FF’s did not establish this nation one equality. That is when he came up with his 14th Amendment argument.

& manydems has not "run around in circles."

If your purpose was to provoke manydems into a querulous response, you succeeded. Easy enough to do, I'm sure I could do it myself if I tried. In this thread, I thought manydems showed better-than-usual self-restraint.

But on Jun-26-13 8:31 AM, I'm afraid, you pick a fight, & continue at 12:17 PM . You wrote in the latter, "You were the one who stated the 14th Amendment was the foundation for that equality you claim the government is responsible for providing." As I read manydems' Jun-25-13 10:59 PM post, it wasn't the foundation; the foundation was the 1st part, "The principle of equality is so central to American ideology the word does not appear in the Constitution" The 14th Amendment part was a passing comment, an addendum.

It follows that you put your own slant on it when you wrote, "Thank you md for finally agreeing with me ... you were wrong." Nothing in the thread as currently posted supports "finally" or "wrong". (Maybe it's in that comment that may or may not have been removed?)

But assuming the whole thread is still up, the word "equality" first appears in manydems' Jun-25-13 posts at 7:39 PM & 8:27 PM. You respond, "Equality for all? Where is that promised?"

The hinge-pin of the argument is, had manydems ever said that it is "promised"? manydems responds that equality is an UNWRITTEN American principle, so well understood that it wasn't necessary to write it down. (I'm paraphrasing, sharpening a little to underline manydems' point.)

to AaronS,

I don't try to follow all the details of these arguments, but since you seem to ;-\ value my opinion, I went back & tried to reconstruct the disagreement between you & manydemocrats.

I'm left wondering whether some comment has been removed. On Jun-25-13 10:19 PM you refer to "an incorrect quote" which I have been unable to identify; maybe I'm just reading over it but I can't find it.

Many demo's: I have to quote you. "We will no longer tolerate.....HATE.....working class...." Do your attacks on other commentaries show any emotion other than hate and do you specifically represent the working class or is it too broad?

Manydemo's: Seems you jump to too many conclusions. First the DUI was a woman, not man. Second; she has extremely little work history because she has been terrorizing her family and friends as a raging drunk druggie for MANY years. She applied for SS due to her "depression" and has been drinking on the governments dime ever since. Three or more DUI's COULD tell yas she might have a problem. Substituting "depression" with alcohol while snorting Xanax won't fix that. Any more attacks?

Neo: Thanks. Will delve more into the specific cases. Most likely SSI because the individuals I mentioned have little and no work history. Manydemos: Forgot you had a degree in psychology which trumps mine in sociology. You wanna call me a LIAR. Them's fighten words, pardner! Your recommended solution to the problem is to attack someone you do not know? Yes I have two degrees, but I'm over sixty and the newer phones frustrate me. Not a sign of lack of intelligence, I just read too much and don't want to spend my valuable time playing with advances in telephone technolog. I could care less about it and the gentleman who got the phone is regrettably, retarded. He needs a simple flip to answer and flip to dial phone not a mini computer! Another thing related: I've re read your comments here and other comment articles. Instead of offering facts and solutions to problems, you attack. If all else fails, attack! Why THINK b4 u sputter?

“…equality of OPPORTUNITY & equality of OUTCOME.”

For me, it’s an easy distinction. I believe this country offers plenty of opportunity and it’s up to the individual to make the most of their situation. 20 years ago, that is where we may have been but today; I don’t think there is any question the left demands the 2nd as the response by the left on this thread demonstrates. Clearly, liberals in this country expect, no, demand equality of outcome.

Last year, the Cleveland Current brought the “plight” of the pour to the forefront when the showed how a family of 4, when counting earned income credits, food stamps, school lunch, subsidized insurance, and rent has a disposable compensation package of nearly $38K while the same family earning $60K’s disposable income is less than $35K.

King of makes you wonder where we’re going to be as a nation in 20 years if the left is not placed in some kind of check or balance.
