Second Half for Boys of Summer

July 18, 2013 - Jay Bennett
It's time to get back down to real business again!

The second half of the Major League Baseball season is going to be up and running again in no time.

That means the quest of the Pittsburgh Pirates to continue winning watch is officially about to start up again.

My seasonal fantasy team bit the dust long ago thanks to a plethora of hitting injuries and some very bad auction buys this spring. Yes, I'm pointing my finger at YOU -- JOSH HAMILTON. But, of course, at any draft or auction for fantasy baseball one has to live by the players they either drafted or used their auction dollars to acquire.

I'm really hesitant to think the Pirates are going to win a divisional crown or make the playoffs, but something really weird is going to need to happen if Clint Hurdle's gang is not going to finish above the .500 mark. That's for sure.

What also is for sure is that with MLB back in action it's time to grind away at picking daily fantasy baseball lineups and hope I can catch fellow scribe Jim Butta in ESPN's Baseball Challenge in the West Virginia group. If you play Baseball Challenge on ESPN, come join the group!
