A Most Scandalous Proposal
March 11, 2013 - Amy Phelps
A young woman sees a way out of her arranged marriage by an affair with on old friend in "A Most Scandalous Proposal" by Ashlyn MacNamara.
Julia isn't interested at all in the Earl of Clivesden, but her sister, Sophia, has pined over him for years. Her status-seeking mother and her debt-ridden father see an answer to all of their problems by having Julia become his bride. Julia wants out of the arrangement, not only for her sister's sake, but for her own as well, but feels like she is being swept along by her scheming parents. That's when she comes up with a scheme of her own - her childhood friend Benedict Revelstoke has come home again. He isn't too thrilled about her betrothal either, but Julia doesn't seem to want marriage with him either. But her proposal of a scandalous affair to rid her of her fiancee, shakes him to his core. Does he want Julia as his mistress or as his wife?
This is a heated Regency romance that will have fans turning pages all night. Julia is a witty heroine and Benedict is perfect as the rakish hero.
