In hurricane news, as we are enjoying our comfortable homes and utilities, etc., we need to stop and pray for all the victims that suffered and are still suffering from the damage and destruction done by the two hurricanes.
It is very sad that anyone has to face something so devastating in their lifetime … not to mention the thousands that lost their homes and everything they have worked years and years to accomplish. Many migrate every year to the south to avoid the cold winters and snow in the north and only to experience a much worse thing with the hurricanes and destruction.
We complain when we get a heavy rain in our area but can you imagine having your house, roads, bridges and cars flooded and even carried away and seeing everything you have worked for all your life destroyed and gone in a matter of moments. So we need to stop and think twice before we do excessive complaining. What has taken place especially this year will result in many moving to another state, many will rebuild because it is home to them.
We need to praise and salute all the people, organizations and all aspects of help from all over the United States that have pitched in and with all various means of help and things needed. These people will be highly rewarded by God and should be highly respected, thanked and appreciated by everyone. This is not just a matter that the hurricanes have passed and things will go back to normal, it will take years and years to rebuild all the terrible destruction that took place and sadly many probably will not be able to build back and replace all they have lost.
Life is very uncertain so we need to pray and keep in mind the words of the song “One Day at a time – Sweet Jesus.”
Till next week.
