Downtown PKB: Winterfest wraps up another year

Last weekend we hosted our annual Winterfest event at Bicentennial Park in downtown Parkersburg.

A great crowd filled the park, participating in fun holiday activities and live performances from YoYo Elite Baton, P.A.C.E., the Southern Belles and the Phoenix Twirlers. Thank you to all the groups for putting on a great show and entertaining the crowd.

Following Winterfest there was the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, fireworks and a concert at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The museums downtown were also open during this time for Winterfest participants to enjoy.

Thank you to the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History, Cook House, Mid-Ohio Valley Model Railroad Club and Oil & Gas Museum for being open and giving people the opportunity to stop in and enjoy your facilities. It was a great evening and a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season.

The success of the event would not be possible without the businesses and organizations who contribute in some way. A huge thank you goes out to our title sponsor WVU Medicine Camden Clark; activity sponsors Blueprints, Event Designs, Mulberry Lane, One Community Federal Credit Union and United Bank; activity providers Actors Guild of Parkersburg, Discovery World on Market and J.D. Williamson; and in-kind sponsors CAS Cable, City of Parkersburg and V96.9.

Winterfest is the last event of the year for Downtown PKB, but it won’t be long before planning begins on the 2024 events. Dates will be announced at the beginning of the year on the Downtown PKB Facebook page (@downtownpkb) and website (downtownpkb.com/events).

Stay tuned for updates on the Taste of Parkersburg, Summer Concert Series, Downtown Throwdown, Monster Mash and Winterfest.

We hope to see you at one or all the events enjoying our wonderful downtown.
