Robyn Almodovar has been a chef on several cooking-related television shows, including winning both “Chopped” and “Cutthroat Kitchen” as well as being a finalist on “Hell’s Kitchen.” So she may be a familiar face to those that enjoy those programs.

Almodovar also has her own award-winning food truck, Palate Party Gourmet Food Truck and Catering Company, and now can add cookbook author to the mix with “Low & Slow Cooking.”

The book has 60 recipes meant to cook all day in your oven to really get to savor the flavor.

The dishes are divided into seven chapters: Family Favorites, The Best Dinner Ideas, My Favorite Things to Eat in a Bowl, Party Favorites, Great Slow Side Dishes, It’s All about the Basics and Desserts Please.

Family Favorites include main dishes like Not Your Ordinary Pot Roast, Puerto Rican Chicken Stew and Grandma’s Beef Stew.

The Best Dinner Ideas include Standout Pork Shank with Broccoli and Brussels Sprout Slaw, Citrus-Smoked Salmon and Sausage and Gravy Pizza.

My Favorite Things to Eat in a Bowl include recipes for Lamb & Squash Soup, Smoked Corn Chowder and All About that Bisque.

Party Favorites has appetizers like Game Day Wings, Short Rib Chili with Cornbread and Slow-Roasted Pork Sandwich.

Great Slow Side Dishes has recipes for Dutch Oven Bread, Sweet and Spicy Baked Beans and My Momma’s Mushrooms.

It’s All about the Basics includes sauces and stocks like My Famous Wing Sauce, Cilantro-Lime Crema and The Best BBQ Sauce.

Desserts, Please ends things with Chocolate Pot de Creme, Gooey Monkey Bread and Deep-Fried Bread Pudding.

One evening I made Piggy Mac, which is roasted pork with homemade mac and cheese. Do not tell Robyn, but I made the pork part in my InstantPot to save on time. The macaroni and cheese I made using her recipe, and I was waiting for my picky kids who usually hate homemade mac and cheese to complain but was surprised when they actually liked it. Serve with pork on top, it was a big hit.
