Community Lenten services scheduled

The Beverly-Waterford Ministerial Association has announced its Community Lenten Services schedule. Each Wednesday evening service will begin at 7 p.m. The complete list of dates, churches and pastors is: March 4, Smith’s Chapel, Russell White; March 11, Waterford Nazarene, Jerry Penrod; March 18, Waterford United Methodist Church, Doug Downs; March 25, Watertown Presbyterian, Tom O’Connor; April 1, Beverly Presbyterian, John Harra; April 10, Beverly United Methodist Church, Karl Kesselring.

Smith’s Chapel United Methodist Church, this week’s host church, is located at 2033 State Route 83 in Beverly, Ohio.

Registration continues for the 2020 Beverly–Waterford Bunny Hop 5k Run/Walk., being held Saturday April 11. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. for runners and 8:35 a.m. for walkers. Start and finish lines are in front of Fort Frye High School, 420 5th Street, in Beverly, OH. Join your neighbors and friends for a morning of exercise, fun, and door prizes!

Registration and fees, on or before April 4 are $15. After April 4, fees are $20. A race T-shirt is guaranteed to everyone registering on or before April 4 and a limited number of T-shirts will be available for those registering after April 4. To register by mail, send the completed registration form, with check only, payable to “American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389/5k” to Katie Tucker, 78 Anderson Lane, Waterford, OH 45786. Registered participants will receive a post-race door prize entry ticket.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Beverly and Waterford Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Team, and American Legion Auxiliary Community Projects. VISIT THE LIBRARY

Lap Time for Baby Book Worms is scheduled for tomorrow at 6 p.m. and will be repeated Tuesday at 11 a.m. This excellent reading program provides children under the age of 2, who are accompanied by an adult, the chance to begin a love of books through stories, song, and play.

Anime Wednesday continues Wednesday at 3:30. A selection of Japanese animation will be shown, mostly in Japanese with American subtitles. Ratings may vary, so contact the library with any questions.

The Lego Club meets this Thursday at 3:30. Members can choose to work together on a kit or build independently.

Free tax help, sponsored by AARP, is being offered Monday morning and Wednesday evening. Sign-up is required, so call the library for more information or to schedule an appointment.
