Get ready, get set, hop

It may still be ‘winter’, but it’s time to start getting in shape for the Bunny Hop. Registration forms are now available for the 18th annual Beverly-Waterford Bunny Hop 5K Run/Walk scheduled for Saturday, April 11.

The race begins at 8:30 a.m. for runners and 8:35 a.m. for walkers. Start and finish lines are in front of Fort Frye High School, 420 5th Street, in Beverly, OH. Join your neighbors and friends for a morning of exercise, fun, and door prizes!

Registration and fees, on or before April 4 are $15. After April 4, fees are $20. A race T-shirt is guaranteed to everyone registering on or before April 4 and a limited number of T-shirts will be available for those registering after April 4. To register by mail, send the completed registration form, with check only, payable to “American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389/5k” to Katie Tucker, 78 Anderson Lane, Waterford, OH 45786. Registered participants will receive a post-race door prize entry ticket.

We’re throwing a 1920s rub! Get on your glad rags, grab an Oliver Twist, and let’s go! Get ready to whoopee because it’s gonna be a sockdallager! No wurps allowed. (Or, in today’s ‘lingo,’ We’re throwing a 1920s dance!

Get on your best clothes, grab a great dancer, and let’s go! Get ready for a great time because it’s gonna be a wonderful event! No wet blankets allowed.) The Beverly Library is holding a 1920s dance Friday, February 7, 2020 from 7-10 p.m. in the Waterford Township Community Building. For more information, please call the library at 740-984-4060.



The Beverly Public Library is winding down the month of January with its regular schedule of activities. Story time for children ages 2-6, accompanied by an adult, will be held Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. and again Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. until noon. Great stories are shared along with music, games, and crafts.

Wednesday from 3:30-5 will be Anime Wednesday. Remember to contact the library for film ratings.

Thursday the library will celebrate Chinese New Year. Samples of Chinese food will be served, and those attending will also get a chance to try their hands at using chop sticks. The program for school-aged children begins at 3:30 p.m.
