Taste of Parkersburg Planning underway
The Taste of Parkersburg steering committee has been working since January planning for this year’s event. This year marks the 14th anniversary of our unique wine, beer and food tasting event that in recent years has seen attendance upwards of 2,500 people. Not only is the Taste of Parkesburg a favorite of locals, but it also brings in guests from out of town, giving them the opportunity to plan a weekend in Parkersburg enjoying good music, great food and beverages. This year’s entertainment lineup includes local newcomers Track 9, Lady D (West Virginia’s First Lady of Soul) and back by popular demand the Dennis McClung Blues Band.
The Taste of Parkersburg event relies heavily on the support of community volunteers to assist in the operations of making our event a success. From setup to teardown, volunteers are hard at work selling tickets, pouring wine and assisting guests. Some folks have already reached out to sign up to help with this year’s event and we certainly thank you. For others who are interested in helping out with this year’s Taste of Parkersburg, visit our website, click on the Taste of Parkersburg Volunteer application link at the top of the page. The registration link will be open until May 17.
Sponsorship from our local business community is another big component that helps to make the Taste of Parkersburg a success. This year’s title sponsor is Justin Raber Attorney at Law. We are also excited to announce our other Taste of Parkesburg sponsors, which include United Bank, Wesbanco, Peoples Bank, WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, Chapman Printing, The Blennerhassett Hotel and the City of Parkersburg. Sponsorship opportunities are still available if your business would like to help support our event while getting some great exposure. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Once again this year we will be selling reserved tables, which have become very popular for our participants. This year through our website, individuals interested in purchasing a reserved table will have the option to choose their reserved tent on a first come, first serve basis. General admission entry tickets and reserved tables will go on sale April 22 and can be purchased online at downtownpkb.com. General admission entry tickets will also be sold at various local banks, the Parkesburg Brewing Company and the Blennerhassett Hotel in late April. Entry tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
Mark your calendars now and save the date for Downtown PKB’s signature spring event — the Taste of Parkersburg on Saturday, June 1. Grab your friends and make plans to sip and savor the flavors!
