Critical Conversations & Feedback Workshop (Marietta Chamber event)
* Tuesday, April 9, 2019
* 9-11:30 a.m.
* Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike Street, Marietta
For leaders to effectively help team members develop and grow, they must become more comfortable and competent at giving feedback. Unfortunately many leaders are intimidated by the conversation, leading them to avoid this critical function. Todd Gehrmann is an Executive Partner and Founder of FOCUS Training. He has been a professional leadership trainer and speaker for over 25 years. Todd has spent that time traveling around the country presenting his leadership message, “Achieving Excellence Through Understanding and Action” to tens of thousands of businesspeople, students, and educators. Since 1991, he has been building FOCUS Training into the innovative and dynamic company it is today. His other professional experience includes account management and sales for a Fortune 500 company and work as a Leadership Specialist for an international non-profit association.
Our friends at the Marietta Chamber are expanding this workshop for MOV Chamber members and will honor the member pricing if you are interested in attending. $25 for Marietta, MOV and Belpre Chamber members; $45 for non-members. Register at www.mariettachamber.com or call (740) 373-5176.
MOV Economic Forecast Presentation
* Wednesday, April 17, 2019
* Noon-1:30 p.m.
* WVU-Parkersburg Workforce & Community Education Building, 300 Campus Drive, Parkersburg
Join us for a special Mid-Ohio Valley Economic Outlook Presentation by the West Virginia University College of Business & Economics! Dr. John Deskins is the Director of Business and Economic Research and an associate professor at West Virginia University. His Economic Outlook reports for the State of West Virginia are very insightful and held in high regard by business leaders, legislators and municipalities. We are honored that he is guiding a team of students at WVU this semester to prepare an updated regional economic study and forecast report for the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Hear about the trends for growth, population indicators, economic challenges, demographics, industry and small business opportunities — while you might be thinking an economic presentation may be rather dry, please know Dr. Deskins is an entertaining and vibrant speaker and we are confident his students will demonstrate these same characteristics. This will be a great in-depth and exclusive opportunity for our business community to hear firsthand from our State’s most esteemed economist and his students.
The cost is $20 per person. Lunch will be provided (please let us know on the registration form of any special dietary needs and we will do our best to accommodate those.) Pre-registration required and payment appreciated via credit card or check prior to the event. Payment information is included in the Registration link at www.movchamber.org

Beekeeping is more than a hobby as more enthusiasts shift their passion into an on-going business entity.
