Letter to the Editor: School safety is crucial
(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)
The Wood County Schools excess levy has been in place since 1945 and renewed every five years by Wood County voters. One of the things that this levy provides is funding for school resource officers, security cameras, access control doors, and other items needed for safety and security equipment. With all the news of various school shootings and violence across the nation, I am sure that Wood County voters want the most security that we can give for our students.
This levy is a renewal and will not raise our taxes. If you would like further information about what the school levy funds, you can visit the website www.woodcountyschoolswv.com and look for the renewal levy section.
If you are like me and want our children and grandchildren to be safe during their school day, please vote YES for the Wood County Schools Excess Levy on Nov. 8.
