Letter to the Editor: Not following teachings of man

(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)

It was with a great sadness I read the letter written by a “person of faith.” I am so glad he did not say he was a “Christian,” or a follower of Christ. I am a Christian man who “tries,” although many times fails, to follow Biblical teachings and principals. The world teaches life begins at birth, however, the Bible provides a different teaching. I choose to believe what the Bible teaches.

Psalms 139:13-16 says this: “13 You made my whole being; you formed me in my mother’s body. 14 I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. 15 You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother’s body. When I was put together there, 16 you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.”

It doesn’t get any clearer as to what God is saying about when life begins in this scripture. Many folks will read the previous mentioned letter and feel OK about killing innocent children, just because they are in the womb, or sometimes even after they have met the world’s standard of a “human life.” How sad to think people live by the standards of such a depraved world, and the sacrificing of innocent children.

I can agree on one portion of the writer. “An egg and sperm are independent.” But once joined, I can no longer agree they are independent, as the Bible says that is when conception and life begins. God began to plan your life at that point!

You can choose to follow teachings of men or follow teachings of the Bible. Ask God to help you understand His teaching and to recognize the depravity of man’s perversions of Biblical principals.

I for one am overjoyed we no longer have mandate over our country to continue the sacrifice of our unborn, mostly for convenience of not wanting responsibility for the other unbiblical practices of our world.
