Letter to the Editor: Lies no longer doing the job for Trump
(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)
The Sunday, Oct. 2, News and Sentinel printed a letter to the editor titled, “Get all the facts.” That writer likes to make things up as he goes along. He has a habit of peddling half-truths and plain old-fashioned horse-pucky. He outdid himself in that Oct. 2 letter providing us all with a large dose of hard-copy idiocy.
Most of the garbage in that letter contained information detailing the purpose of the now famous FBI search warrant used at Mar-a Lago. He told us the FBI didn’t search Mar-a-Lago to recover confidential documents belonging to the U.S. Intelligence agencies. According to that letter writer, Trump had collected information which he had locked away at Mar-a-Lago that he was planning on using to destroy the FBI and the Justice Department. That info supposedly detailed Justice Dept. crookedness in recent years. Supposedly, the FBI used their search warrant to grab Trump’s fantasy information so they could destroy it.
Really?
Anyone out there in the real world with half a brain knows Trump would have already played that hand if he actually had any such fantasy information, which he didn’t. For the first time in Trump’s crooked life, he is in deep, serious trouble he can’t lie his way out of. The Justice Department is closing in on Trump and he knows it.
That writer repeated the “big lie” about the 2020 “stolen” election, and he made up some extra silliness about the crooked voting in the six swing states. There isn’t a trace of evidence anywhere proving the trash he wrote in that Oct. 2 letter is factual.
He told us all we should turn off the “fake” news and tune into Fox News for the truth. Fortunately, for this nation. A great majority of U.S. citizens aren’t interested in the distortions provided by Fox and company.
I’m convinced many of Trumps MAGA followers no longer believe Trump and his lies. I’m sure those MAGA dudes would like to believe those lies, but in the past year they’ve begun to learn, with certainty and disappointment, that Trump’s lies will never be elevated to the status of truth.
