Letter to the Editor: Don’t believe the lies
(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)
It’s been said that Satan is the father of all lies. I don’t know if there’s a Satan, but I know there is evil and the Big Lie is evil.
The votes of the 2020 election have been counted over and over and its been proven in the very conservative courts that there was no fraud and Joe Biden won by a lot.
Yet somehow Trump has convinced millions of people that he was the winner. Republicans have been using this Big Lie to nominate crazy election deniers to run for key positions in the next election. This is dangerous.
Far too many Republicans refused to certify the last election, including West Virginia’s own Mooney and Miller, even after Trump’s rioters had just stormed the Capitol. This has never happened before.
The American voters cannot let the Republicans take over the Congress this fall. It could mean the end of American democracy. It’s happened other places and it could happen here.
There’s no reason why people should believe lies. There are very good neutral fact checkers who make it their business to get the facts right. Facebook and Fox News are not among them.
