Letter to the Editor: Climate change is not an emergency

(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)

Recently, President Biden has wanted to declare a national emergency on climate. Climate change is contrived. It is NOT a clear and present danger. No matter whether people believe in God or not, He is still in charge and has always been. Climate has always changed from time to time. The Earth will continue until God destroys it and a new heaven and new Earth are made by Him. Isaiah 65:17 says “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new Earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Of course, if you do not believe in God, this all means nothing to you.

There are many “national emergencies” going on in America right now. The border is not secure, abortion lovers are losing it because they cannot murder little babies, our economy is going down the drain, the president is confused most of the time, and murders, robberies, and assaults are increasing at an alarming rate. The president cannot do anything about these problems. No matter what laws are passed, no matter how many marches are held, no matter how many speeches are made, the government cannot legislate morality.

The elephant in the room about “national emergencies” is a clear and present danger. The national emergency for America is SIN. Sin is anything we say, do, or think that is not pleasing to God. As you might imagine, that is a huge list of offenses. How do we confront the problem of sin? It is very simple. Turn from your sin and turn to Jesus Christ, who gave his life on the cross over 2000 years ago for our sins. We do not have to do anything except admit we are a sinner, that we need a savior, and ask Jesus Christ to come into our heart. It is a gift. We do not have to do anything but accept the gift. We cannot do anything to merit it. Good works, going to church, helping the poor, or anything the world will tell you do not work. There are two, and only two, faith systems available. One is Works, and the other is Grace. Works will not do it for you. The Bible says all our righteousnesses (good works) are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).

Grace is God’s unmerited favor. We cannot earn it. We just accept it. America needs Jesus today.
