Community support appreciated
The Parkersburg Holiday in the Park opened for the 27th year on Nov. 20, 2021, with opening ceremonies. There are over 150 displays in the City Park that the all-volunteer board and committee, along with area businesses, provide for the pleasure of those driving or walking through the park during the holiday season. We would like to offer a special thank you to Tri-State Roofing and Fastener & Supply, Inc. for their great work in remodeling the outside of the donation booth.
The popular “Letters To Santa” were delivered to the North Pole for the youngsters who deposited them in the special ‘Santa Mailbox’ that was repainted and repaired by committee member Marc McCormick.
The Holiday in the Park board and committee appreciates the citizens of the Mid-Ohio Valley and their guests for the continued support shown to this event. Without the support of our community and volunteers, our park would remain dark over the holiday season. Volunteers are needed to continue making this holiday event a showcase for the Mid-Ohio Valley. A special thanks to the businesses and individuals who donated their time to work evenings at the donation booth, sometimes in cold and wet weather. A great “thank you” to our members who came out each night to make sure everything was up and running.
All donations received at the volunteer donation booth goes back into making more displays, maintaining and repairing the existing displays that belong to Holiday in the Park, and purchasing lighting equipment.
The Holiday in the Park Board and Committee continue with their pledge to make the 2022 Holiday in the Park displays a source of pride for the Mid-Ohio Valley and look forward to new people joining the committee. Holiday in the Park is entirely an all-volunteer board and committee.
