Thank you for coming out

OutMOV held our very first Pride in the Park at Parkersburg City Park on June 26. It was a phenomenal day, and we served an estimated 2,000 people. Our event was open to the public and included free live music from local musicians, children’s activities, and access to dozens of community organizations. Cr8tive Cosplay and Professor Bubblemaker entertained kids of all ages. We were pleased to have the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department present, who provided COVID-19 and Hepatitis A vaccines. OutMOV is grateful that we were joined by organizations including the United Way, The Circles Campaign, The Children’s Home Society, The New Wineskins, the ACLU of WV, You Matter-I Matter, Prevent Suicide WV, Westbrook, The Actor’s Guild, Hope Recovery Manor, Rattle the Windows, WV Job Corps, Planned Parenthood, Fairness WV, Necco, WV Free, Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action, and the Wood County Democrats, who provided bottled water to the crowd.

Pride in the Park would not have been successful without the cooperation of Mayor Joyce, the Parkersburg Police Department, the park staff, and community members. Your help and support are greatly appreciated. The attendance and outpouring of support for the LGBTQ+ community in our valley was truly touching. We look forward to seeing you all at our future events.
