Don’t let fear, hypocrisy win
“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.” (Proverbs 19:5)
Last week a reverend decided to practice a little fearmongering among the sheep of Christ. He wanted you to believe the heathens were coming for you, your flags, your Bibles and your weapons. I’ll ask you to take a step back and look at your life. Does it resemble what you might see from Fox News, Maher, Limbaugh or CNN? I’m guessing it does not. Remember not that long ago how people like the reverend were saying the same things when Obama was President. Nothing happened then either.
I’ll also let you know that no one is getting rid of the police. Gangs aren’t going to be running amok in the Mid Ohio Valley. Do not give in to fear.
The reverend was also vile with his view on those “willing to murder the unborn.” Maybe he has a greater imagination than I do with what women facing the choice of abortion must be feeling but I doubt any have a willing heart to murder. Personally I do not agree with the concept of abortion but I do thank God that as a man I don’t have to ever encounter that choice like a woman does. I do not want the government, which I would guess the reverend doesn’t trust, to be taking a woman’s right of choice from her.
I’ll give the reverend a chance to imagine a United States where Trump has taken away the right to choose from women. How will the nation help those women who now must give birth? Will you give them healthcare? If she gives up the child, will you ask Trump to raise taxes to support these children? Or would you wash your hands of them because it’s not your fault they are here?
I would also warn against hypocrisy of judging character. If you want to judge Biden for his morals, you cannot ignore the lack of morals from Trump. Especially since he clings to the cross for the cameras. Trump is prideful, a liar, lustful and a destroyer of peace. Some out there will be thinking about Matthew 7:1 right now but my Bible also says that, “those elders who are sinning you are to reprove before everyone, so that the others may take warning.” (Tim 5:20) Trump is not a person people should try to emulate.
I do agree with the reverend that everyone that can should vote this year. Pray, meditate, study, do whatever you must to be ready to make the choice that will affect us all.
