Sportsmanship special moment

On Tuesday, July 7, on the ninth hole at Mini Bell golf course in Vienna, I was playing golf with my boss/golf buddy. I was one stroke ahead on this final hole when I realized I was out of golf tees. I asked him if he had a spare tee and we both knew there was a lot at stake.

He decided to give me a golf tee.

He hit his shot and it landed approximately 6 feet from the pin, so the pressure was on.

I used that golf tee, and with my trusty nine iron, I miraculously shot a hole in one to seal the victory. With my hands in the air, feeling jubilation, I realized I was yelling “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!” several times. I looked over at him and he said, “I’m happy for you, Mark, but no, no, no!”

I can’t help but think that if it weren’t for that tee, this victory and special moment may not have been possible. This act of true sportsmanship made for a golf memory that the two of us will remember for a lifetime.
