Focus on forgiveness
Perhaps it was angels who prompted me to awake at 3 a.m. Dec. 16 to view the fresh, benevolent white earth. I sat on my front porch swing, contemplating a walk around the block; however decided just to sit and enjoy for a few minutes. A scripture came to mind — Isaiah 1:18 — Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow …
Snow is such a reminder to us this season when Christ was born, that he had an understanding of forgiveness never to be surpassed.
The new year is also a time for forgiveness, letting go of the bondage of resentments. Forgiveness makes way for peace.
May we with Amy Grant sing, “No more lives torn apart, that wars would never start … Everyone would have a friend and love would never end …”
Let us begin this season welcoming in the healing balm of forgiveness that our souls might be light and free.
