Revise heating aid eligibility

Winter is a hard time for many in the Mid-Ohio Valley, due to the cost of heat bills rising. Programs in this area set in place to help families with the rising cost of these bills have not been revised since the 1970s. Working families making minimum wage or people on Social Security do not meet the income requirements to be eligible. A family of two cannot make more than $533 a month. A family of four cannot exceed more than $711 a month.

Since the 1970s the cost of everything has increased; gasoline, rent, food, and utility bills. Revisions should be made according to the cost of living over the past four decades.
