Janet Marie Thompson

Janet Marie Thompson, 88, of Marietta, passed away October 23, 2025, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta Ohio. She was born on November 8, 1936, a daughter of the late William S. and Georgianna M. (Hutchison) Pollock.

Janet was a homemaker and a 1956 graduate of McCluney High School of Crooksville, Ohio. She was a long time member of the Belpre Church of Christ and a Sunday School Teacher. Janet was a big fan of Ohio State, golfing, and loved baking and playing BINGO.

She is survived by four children Karen Thompson, Diane Bussard (Daniel), Robert Thompson (Missy), and Brenda Thompson (Meryl Ginsberg). Five grandchildren Morgan Reeves (Daniel), Ashton Bussard, Madeline Thompson, Abigail Thompson, and Kel Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rolland Eugene Thompson.

Funeral services will be at 11am, Monday,October 27, 2025, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, Ohio, with Evangelist Ron Laughery and Evangelist Jeff Stevenson officiating.

Burial will follow at Iliff Cemetery in Crooksville, Ohio.

Visitation will be held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
