Linda Jean Smith, 80, of Parkersburg, West Virginia passed away April 11, 2025.

She was born May 20, 1944, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Carl Proffitt and Orma Thompson Proffitt.

Linda was a homemaker, whose passion in life was her children. Everyone who met Linda would not forget her charm, sweetness, charisma, and the overwhelming love she had for her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She enjoyed square-dancing and camping with her friends and family. She will be missed by so many.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, Robert Smith; son, Raymond “Scott” (Sandra) Smith; daughter, Robin (JB) Blugel; brother, James Proffitt; grandchildren, Chelsea (Bo), Tiffani (Brian), Andrew (Savannah) Ben (Kate) Corinna, Christian, Christina, Mary; great grandkids, Preston, Mason, Noah, Chevelle, Connor, Paisley, Opie, Aurora, Holton, Collins, Iris; special family, Randy (Ellen), Amanda, Ehrin, Roan, and Helena.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday April 18, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with John Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
