Mildred (Crump) Kelbaugh
Mildred (Crump) Kelbaugh, 99, of Little Hocking, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2025, at the Appletree Assisted Living in Vincent, OH.
She was born September 12, 1925, a daughter of Harrison and Ila Byrd (Oliver) Crump.
Mildred attended schools in Carnesville, Georgia, graduating from Carnesville High School in 1943. After High School, she attended the Georgia-Alabama Business School in Macon Georgia. She then began employment packing parachutes at Warner-Robbins Air Base also located in Macon, Georgia, where she met her future husband, Lloyd, who was stationed at Herbert Smart Air Field, in Macon.
After the war they were married at Jeffersonville, Georgia in December 1945, and returned to West Virginia to begin their lives together. They moved the family to Ohio in 1960. Mildred was a loving and dedicated homemaker, devoted to her husband and children, whom she dearly loved and enjoyed. Mildred was a protestant by faith and had attended Mt. Hope E.U.B., Little Hocking Methodist and Decatur Chapel Churches.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Anita Vaughan of Belpre, Marie Buskirk (Fred) of Elizabeth and Roberta Sue (William) Kelly of Little Hocking; a son Bruce (Anna) Kelbaugh of Little Hocking; a sister Dorothy Brown of Austell Georgia; 8 grandchildren Brian Vaughan, Karen Guido, Lisa Vaughan, Josh Buskirk, Mike (Michelle) Buskirk, Denise (Hannah) Kelbaugh, Christopher (Amy) Kelbaugh and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Lloyd, of 59 years, in 2005, a daughter Betty Jane Kelbaugh, 2 sisters and 8 brothers who all grew up picking cotton to help support the family.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Monday, March 17, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, with Michael Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memory Gardens in Belpre.
