Anne Reese Robinson

February 9, 1927 – March 10, 2025

Anne Reese Robinson passed away on Monday, March 10, at her residence in The Davis Community in Wilmington, N.C. She lived 98 years, one month and one day, and spent a lovely afternoon with her youngest daughter, Deedie, before passing away suddenly that evening.

Anne graduated from New Hanover High School in 1945 and went to work at the Wilmington, NC Airport, where her future husband, New York state native Donald “Robbie” Robinson, was stationed with the Army Air Corps. Anne and Robbie were married for 58 years and had four children: David, Donna, Deborah and Deidre.

Anne and the family lived in Parkersburg, WV, for the last 15 years of Robbie’s career, then Anne and Robbie retired to Davis, N.C. They enjoyed some of their happiest days in Davis, N.C., before returning to the Wilmington, N.C., area to help care for her elderly mother.

Anne loved animals, growing tomatoes and African Violets, sewing elaborate clothing and costumes for her kids, and keeping up with current events. Her playful sense of humor and keen wit were appreciated by everyone who met her. She instilled kindness, compassion, generosity and strong principles in all her children. She was a Member of the Topsail Presbyterian Church.

Anne is survived by her daughters, Donna Spader (Jim), Deborah Robinson (Steven Lynch) and Deidre Robinson, and her “fourth” daughter, also known as her daughter-in-law, Constance Schwarz; two grandchildren, Angie Robinson and Casey Spader; three great grandchildren, Brendan Franke, Liam Franke and Keegan Spader; and several nieces and nephews, including her “favorite” niece, Sharon Prevatte, She was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie, her son, David Robinson, and many dogs, cats, a few horses and a flying squirrel all waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Davis Community for their excellent care and endless compassion, and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their guidance, along with “Gus the therapy dog”.

Charitable contributions can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, the Humane Society of New Hanover County or the animal rescue group of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
