Larry N. Travis

Larry N. Travis, 85, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away on December 24, 2024. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on July 24, 1939, the son of the late Duretha Rogers and Oris Walker.

Larry served in the United States Army, he attended Mineral Baptist Church and worked for the Local 565 Pipefitters.

He had a very adventurous spirit. Larry loved watching his grandchildren play sports, he even coached football and baseball throughout out his life. He also loved sitting on his porch watching nature and greeting the neighbors. Larry was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Renee Schott (Darren), sons, Lance Travis (Angie), Cody Travis, brothers, Mike Walker (Jenny), Oris Walker Jr., grandchildren, Darcie, Brandon, Holly Ann, Landon, Easton, great grandchildren, Kinsley, Nathan, Asher and several nieces and nephews. Larry had a great family, and they will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Kay Patrick and Karen Deems.

Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on January 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service, (11am to 1pm) with a burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked the contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Larry.
