Mike Depue, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, at the age of 60 in Taylors, SC, surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Parkersburg, WV, he completed his high school education at Parkersburg South High School in 1982 and furthered his studies at Washington State Community College in Ohio.

For 37 years, Mike immersed himself in the Dairy Industry, working passionately at Broughton Foods in Marietta, Ohio, before moving to Spartanburg, SC, as the Plant Manager at the PET Dairy Plant. Known for his culinary skills, Mike delighted in cooking gourmet meals for his family and friends, showcasing his generosity and love for sharing food with others.

Hosting a Sunday dinner amongst family and friends became a beloved tradition. Mike’s passion for food extended to community acts as well, where he made sure no one went hungry. A devoted family man, he raised his children with unwavering love and pride, supporting them at every step of their journey. Gary followed his father into the dairy industry, first at Broughton Foods in Marietta and currently at Milkco in Asheville. Meanwhile, he helped establish Richard and Alex’s restaurant, The Barker Estate, cooking side by side with his son-in-law for many evening dinners.

Aside from his dedication to his family and work, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and follower of Ohio State football, he loved attending concerts, particularly those of Nickelback, and savored a finely crafted bourbon.

His infectious sense of humor, strong work ethic, and genuine nature earned him respect and admiration among his colleagues. A friend to all, but a private person who kept his circle close and was cherished and valued by all who knew him.

As he ends this journey, he is leaving a piece of the best parts of himself to his wife Kimberly S. Depue; two children, Alexandra “Alex” Christy and her husband Richard and Gary Michael Depue and his wife Kelsi; a brother, Benjamin Scott Depue; and a nephew, Beniah Jameson Depue.

He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin “Buck” Depue and Elouise A. (Welch) Depue and a brother, Timothy Depue.

A private service for family and close friends will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Mike Depue’s remarkable life. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
