Ronald (Ron) K. Nickoson

Ronald (Ron) K. Nickoson, 79, met his Savior on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born on March 11, 1943, and was the son of Ross Nickoson and Josephine Kelley Nickoson.

He met Bonnie Wines at the age of 14 and they were married as high school sweethearts in 1963. They raised their family in the Village of Coolville. Ron retired from Dupont after 35 years of service in 2001. Ron was an active member of the Coolville Lodge 337 F&AM and the Coolville Village Council. He attended Liberty Street Church of God, Parkersburg, WV. He was an avid handyman working on cars and helping anyone that he could.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Bonnie Wines Nickoson of Coolville, Ohio; daughter Rhonda (Joseph) McCallister of Little Hocking, Ohio; son Rick (Susan) Nickoson of Coolville, Ohio; grandchildren Ryan (Jatana) Nickoson, Justin (Morgan) Nickoson, Kaitlynn (Patrick) Suggs, Logan McCallister. The apple of his eye was his five great grandchildren, Bryson, Zoey, Karlie Nickoson and Noah and Madelynn Suggs. He is survived by a sister Joyce (Gary) Brown of Coolville, Ohio.

Ron was also survived by special nieces and nephews that were loved like his own children, Tim (Karmen) Lockhart, Tammy (Russ) Husk, Brittney (Ritchie) Schoolcraft and Ryder. Also survived by nieces and nephews Lisa (Jason) Linton, Elaine (Charles) Harper and Dakota Proffitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Josephine Nickoson; infant brother Roger, and in-laws Bill and Lucile Wines.

In 2008, at the age of 65 Ron made the decision to commit his life to God. His final wishes were for his family and friends to have a relationship with God as he did. Even with the battle of cancer Ron remained strong with his faith.
