Christine Corbitt Kloss, 55, beloved wife of Edward Kloss, passed from this life on July 5, 2021, in Gurnee, IL. She is survived by her husband Edward Kloss, her mother, M. Susan Corbitt-James, brothers James (Robin) Corbitt and Scott (Stefanie) Corbitt, nieces Sarah, Shannon and Shelby and nephews Isaac and Jesse as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mearl “Tom” Corbitt, sister Theresa Stephens, grandparents Mearl and Sybil Corbitt and grandparents Robert and Catherine Whitlatch.

Christine was born in Parkersburg WV on Feb. 3, 1966, to Mearl “Tom” Corbitt and M. Susan (Whitlatch) Corbitt. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1984 and Xavier University (Cincinnati) in 1988 with a degree in Marketing/Marketing Management.

Christine had a successful 33 year career in the insurance and underwriting industry. She finished her career as Senior Regional Underwriting Manager at Safety National where she had a talent and passion for mentoring junior associates. During her career, she worked with numerous treasured friends and valued peers to provide superior service and solutions to many trusted clients.

Christine enjoyed her many friends and cooking fabulous meals for frequent gatherings. Her culinary skills and loving friendship will be greatly missed. She also loved traveling the world with her best friend, her love and soulmate Ed. She was a lifelong Jimmy Buffett parrot head and attended his concerts from Chicago to Paris.

Christine loved her canine family, Riley, Kolby and Duncan, and her horses, Earl and Wyatt. She looked forward to outings with her equestrian friends and considered them a second family.

A funeral Mass and a Celebration of Life is planned for September 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee IL
