Mark Albert Currey, 57, gained his angel wings after a courageous battle with cancer on May 12, 2021. Jeff, Mark’s brother, and Karen, the love of his life, whom he resided with in Ravenswood, WV assisted and cared for Mark until the end.

Mark was born on Feb. 10, 1964, the son of Michael A. Currey and Edith I. Currey. Mark was a 1982 graduate of Ripley High School, where he was a standout athlete in football and wrestling. Mark worked for Hartley Manufacturing for 20 years. He then served as a foreman on the pipeline. Mark will always be remembered for his meticulous yard work.

He enjoyed spending time with his brother, Jeff, while running their rabbit beagles together, and fishing in the mountains with his brother, Kevin. Mark also enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Jacob, and loved sitting on the deck with Karen, listening to music. He was an avid Mountaineer fan and enjoyed attending his nieces and nephews’ sporting events. His spunk and zest for life will truly be missed by his family and friends.
