Charles W. “Charlie” McDaniel Sr.
Charles W. “Charlie” McDaniel Sr., 80, of Belpre, Ohio, died on March 4, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Torch, Ohio, on Jan. 30, 1941, and was the son of the late William and Katherine McDonald McDaniel. He had worked for the ABF Freight System for 18 years and retired from the Teamsters after many years. He had been a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ for 29 years and the Lynn Street Church of Christ since 2010. He had been a volunteer at Old Man Rivers for 10 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, old cars and dirt track racing.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Kathy McDaniel, two sons, Charles William (Billy) McDaniel Jr. of Belpre, Ohio, Michael T. (Gina) McDaniel of Belpre, Ohio, grandsons, Joshua (Erika) McDaniel, Malachi McDaniel, Tim (Ashley) McDaniel, Jacob McDaniel, Blake McDaniel, Dakota McDaniel, great grandchildren, Max, Alex, Larissa, Brayden, Kaitlyn, Scarlett and Lennox. Also surviving are a sister, Alberta Dalton of Belpre, a brother, Jerold McDaniel of Belleville, MI and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Shirley McDaniel, Betty McDaniel, two brothers, Robert and Clyde McDaniel.
Services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Ron Laughery and Teddy Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday.
