Patricia (Pat) Sue Moore Burkhamer
Pat Burkhamer, 79, of Williamstown, WV, passed away in Pace, FL during the early morning hours of Monday, October 12, 2020 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 5, 1941, in Auburn, WV and was the daughter of the late T.F. Moore and Jamie Moore.
Pat was a 1958 graduate of Harrisville High School where she was a majorette in the band and was the 1958 HHS Homecoming Queen. She worked as a Personnel Director at Chase Bank before retiring as a floor manager for ARC Resin.
She enjoyed watching her sons play sports at Williamstown High School and throughout college and was their biggest fan and cheerleader. She was very proud of her sons. She was also very competitive and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved making chocolate sheet cake and pound cake. Pat was a loving wife, mother, and Nana to her grandkids.
She was united in marriage to Edsil W. Burkhamer of Troy, WV on July 9, 1960 in Clifton Forge, VA. They celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage this past summer.
Surviving are three sons, Jeff (Diane) of Pace, FL; Greg (Kimberly) of Palm City, FL; and Todd (Kelli) of Springhill, FL. She also had seven grandchildren which she loved dearly. Her grandchildren are Melissa Thompson (Ian), Lindsey Burkhamer, Quintin Burkhamer, Justin Burkhamer, Brandon Burkhamer, Brittany Burkhamer, and Dylan Burkhamer. She also had a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.
Pat is survived by her older sister, Ellen Hedges of Belmont, WV and is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Earl (Frank) of St. Mary’s, WV and Mary Belle Smith (Rex) of Williamstown, WV, along with two brothers, James Moore of Glenville, WV , and Tommy Moore (Pat) of Glenville, WV.
Pat will be cremated in Pace, FL and a “Celebration of Life” ceremony will be held in Williamstown at a later date. The family insists that people make donations in support of the Humane Society in Marietta, OH, in lieu of flowers or gifts.
