Frances Lucille Radcliff Sams, 92 of Dayton, Ohio, previously of Parkersburg passed away peacefully at her home on December 9th, 2019. She was born February 11, 1927 to the late Roy and Doris Radcliff. She graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1944. She married her husband, Harold K. Sams in Sept. 1944.
Frances was a lifetime home maker. Her husband was a career Air Force serviceman during WWII, Korean War and Vietnam. She was both Mother and Father at times for her two children, Pat (Bob) Reeder and Larry Sams.
She dearly loved her grandchildren Kimberly Turner of California, Dee Fordyce of Parkersburg, Amanda Sams, Angela (Joe) Young, Julia (Ben) Dulin all from the Dayton area. She had 6 great-grandchildren, Dedrick Sams, Leo Sams, Marlee Larson, Oliver Dulin, Nora Dulin and Crystal Dulin all of the Dayton area.
Frances was a Methodist by faith and when she resided in Parkersburg, she was a member of Lauckport United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold of 65 years, her parents, and two sisters, Cora Lee Starcher and Jaqueline Petty and a son-in-law, Danny Eaton.
In her younger days she enjoyed bowling and loved her flower beds. She loved to cook and bake for her family. She also enjoyed doing counted cross stitch.
Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Jamie Sprague officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 2- 4 & 6- 8 PM Friday.
